The pumps were belong to the general machinery, and were widely usedin water conservancy, chemical and petrochemical, as well as in the sector ofnational economy. Because of the characteristics of the transmission medium,the pumps which were used in the chemical industry must be able to adapt tothe special conditions, such as high and low pressure, high and low speed, andwere worked under strong corrosive conditions. Since assembly programs andassembly quality were played a significant impact on the function,performance and reliability to the pump, thus it was put forward higherrequirements on the pump assembly planning. Assembly evaluation canprovide a basis for the assembly planning of the pump,and thereby theoptimum assembly sequence was obtained at last. The assembly processevaluation can not only to evaluate the assembly sequence to the product,but also the assembly process factors were considered in the evaluation. Theassembly process evaluation was a difficult and hot topic in the field ofassembly technology, and the core issue was the evaluation and selection ofthe assembly sequences.The assembly process evaluation of the pump was studied in this paper,the evaluation index system was established in the assembly process, the casestudies on the pump, the selection of the evaluation method,the evaluationsystem was developed,and from other aspects to elaborate the assemblyprocess evaluation of the pump, was aimed at providing a basis and referenceon assembly planning and automated assembly for the pump.First of all, to the characteristics of assembly technology and the assemblyprocess,4first-grade indexes which include the convenience of assemblyoperations, the assurance of assembly accuracy, the simplicity of assemblyprocesses and the feasibility of assembly, and a total of20second-gradeindexes were established in this paper. Secondly, the AHP method was applied to determine the weights of eachindex. The membership formula was given to some of the quantitativeevaluation.Based on the optimal reference set or fuzzy comprehensiveevaluation method was used to gain the membership for the rest of theevaluation indexes.Again, the above evaluation indexes and evaluation methods were used tothe case studies on the CB-type gear pump, the FS-type single-stagecentrifugal pump and the D-type sectional multistage centrifugal pumpseparately, a few assembly sequences were selected to the evaluation, acomprehensive evaluation of the assembly process of the pump werecompleted.Finally, the VB was used to develop an assembly process evaluationsystem which was contributed to the achievement of human-computerinteraction. In accordance with the specified algorithm, it can deal withcomplex computing problems, improved the computational efficiency rategreatly, and it provided a tool and platform for the assembly processevaluation.
