Adaptive Front-lighting System is a major innovation in the initiative safety area inrecent years; It can change the illumination beam according to the vehicle speed, roadconditions, weather and body states. Paper study the principle and method of high energyefficiency vehicle LED adaptive headlamps around the high-light energy utilization anddistribution of illumination required by rules. So the topics have important theoreticalsignificance and practical value.The paper first analysis the structure and principles of vehicle LED adaptive headlamplighting system, through the analysis of LED optical properties, research and get the changerules of energy utilization with different locations and angles in the optical system. Then,analyse the operating principle of the projection optical system, proposing the design methodof projection optical system without baffle based on variable ellipsoidal surface reflector, bychanging the length of semiaxis of poly-ellipsoid curved surface in optical axis and opticalaxis cross-section orientation, and divide the ellipsoidal surface reflector for many regularsub-blocks, so that the LED light energy regularly passed to the target illumination area.In realizing the AFS light type, the paper first analyzes the light distribution requirementsof the AFS regulations, specific comparative analysis of four kinds of optical characteristicsof the AFS, and then divide the light screen, put forward the design thought of adaptiveheadlamps optical system based on "main+minor" modular. Realize the different light typeby the combination of LED modular.Then the paper design the vehicle LED adaptive headlamps light distribution systembased on variable ellipsoid reflector no baffle projection type headlamps theory and "main+minor" modular optical system design thought, and then establish the model of the lightsource reflector and lens. The model of the light source is modeling on the headlamp lightluxeon Altilon dedicated by Philips company, through its3D solid modeling, set properties inoptical software, the definition file light, we achieve the LED light source modeling, and thenmodeling of the reflector is based on the changed ellipsoidal surface reflector and the withoutscree projection optical system design theory, designed the mathematical model of the reflector in a variety of modules and given parameters, and finally calculated by Matlab, andthen through software Rhino got the three-dimensional model of the reflector;The modelingof the aspheric lens we refer to the design of the relevant literature [38,53-55], put out thesimplified design method and in Matlab got the curve of the aspheric lens, finally with theRhino got the three-dimensional model.Finally, in the optical software Lucidshape, the optical simulation system established forthe previous modeling, and through simulation, we got four kinds of light of AFS. andthrough analysis of its light type and the illuminance values of key point, improve thereflection design parameters, ultimately, we realize the C,V,E,W light pattern.
