Fiber reinforced concrete can be regarded as a kind of common concrete which is mixed with a certain amount of short, evenly dispersed and discontinuous fiber. At present, the field of fiber reinforced concrete which is used for building is dominated by basalt fiber reinforced concrete with its favourable durability, mechanical properties, cost performance. At home and abroad the research about basalt fiber reinforced concrete has made great progress, however many of them are the basic material properties with less research on structure or particularly experimental research on shear capacity of inclined section of basalt fiber reinforced concrete beam. In order to compensate for the vacancy of the basalt fiber reinforced concrete, this paper will explore the shear capacity of basalt fiber reinforced concrete beam.In order to research the influence of the cracking and ultimate load, the largest inclined crack, deformation and ductility on the inclined section of concrete beam with the incorporation of basalt fiber. Four basalt fiber reinforced concrete beams with parameters of fiber length and volume ratio are designed and made, which fiber lengths are12mm and30mm, and the volume ratios were0.1%and0.2%. The test data come from the comparison between basalt fiber reinforced concrete beams and a common beam with no fiber reinforced.The test results show that:Basalt fiber is good at preventing cracking and improving strength. The incorporation of basalt fiber improves the cracking and ultimate load on the inclined section of the concrete beam; The diagonal crack width which under the same load develop slowly and reduce obviously with the growing of fiber characteristic parameters; Specimen load-deflection curves show that the basalt fiber reinforced concrete beams have good performance on deformation; Basalt fiber reinforced concrete beams’failure display preferable ductility, and the calculation results shows that its sheer ductility parameter have the tendency of increase compared with the common reinforced concrete beam.Based on the test data and theory analysis, referring to "Technical specification for fiber reinforced concrete structures" and "Code for design of concrete structures" the calculation method of the cracking and ultimate load on inclined section of basalt fiber reinforced concrete beam are proposed, which can provide the theoretical basis for the engineering practice.
