Space Pattern Study Of Commercial Street In Residential Communities

With the development economy and the acceleration of urban construction, theinhabitants demand for community commercial service is becoming more and moreurgent. And with the arrival of the community age, lots of commercial streets haveappeared in communities.The paper deals with the study of commercial streets in residentialcommunities and focus on a range of issues arising from its development. Based onhuman behavior research in commercial environment and public space, the authorsummarized that business and public movements have different requirements inspace of Commercial Street in residential communities. From the fieldwork inCommercial Streets in new residential communities built in recent years in Beijing,the author found that new commercial streets in communities are in the inheritedfeatures of its traditional commercial facilities and while showing a trend ofmulti-mode and variety styles. But some weakness on planning and spatial design,easily led to some issues, such as, lack of vitality and so on.Referenced the new concepts in residential community planning and newplanning methods in design, the author has proposed the specific strategies inplanning and spatial design mode for commercial street-related with a view toprovide reference and recommendations for the construction of commercial streetin residential communities.
