With the rapid development of urbanization, a great number of problems about landscape regeneration design in abandoned mining areas occur. Many suburb areas become the center of cities while lots of waste mining lands appear in some developing cities on the basis of mining resources. Definitely, the bad environment of waste mining lands brings negative effects on the process of sustainable improvement. In order to create the great landscape as well as improve the natural environment of mining area, excellent domestic and international experiences of transformation project and the Earth-Art combined with local plants, retention, renovation and re-use of main components have been implemented. On the basis of the developing and developed mining areas in Wu Hai, exploiting-managing policy is needed. Firstly, using previous materials such as tracks, ventilation shafts, wind fences which have been treated as mediums to cultivate native plants and even utilizing the low-quality ores to fill the uncovered pit are the typical approaches. Secondly, for such developed areas, on one hand, during the underground mining activities, the advanced technology of Shen Hua Enterprise has been utilized to reduce the secondary pollution of ores exposed to the air and greatly reduce the abandoned ores in mining areas. On the other hand, after taking into account the ecological benefits, the regeneration design must be considered urgently to improve the natural environment as well as beautify the mining area cities. From simple green plants to comprehensive control, such new thoughts and creative designs are available. In this paper, on the basis of the combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experiences the regeneration design for mining wasteland landscape has been done. Mineralogy, Landscape Ecology, Geography, Architecture, Environmental studies, Hydrology, Humanities, Engineering, and Aesthetics have been synthesized together and using empirical analysis, landscape regeneration of Wu Hai, to analyze the new regeneration designing approaches. Besides, the basic designing paradigm of such wastelands regeneration has been obtained, which not only provide references for the domestic mining wasteland landscape regeneration, but also popularize the knowledge of mining industries, in order to create more eco-friendly mining landscape. Finally, the overall considerations about the development of mining wastelands have been put forward.
