The shore container crane is the main equipment for handling operation in container terminal. Many large ports have being constructed along the east coasts of China. However, the place is a high intensity seismic zone. These special geographical environment determine that the container crane would suffer from earthquake disaster inevitable. Once the earthquake happened, container crane structure would suffer from fatal damage, seriously threatening the normal handling operation of container terminal. Therefore, the study of response from earthquake basement excitation has the extremely vital significance.This thesis takes the large-scale container crane structure as the research object. Based on theories of finite element, structural dynamics, and seismic oscillation, taking advantages of transient time-history analysis method, analytical method of basement excitation response from Wenchuan seismic wave after processed is researched. And coincident acceleration method, displacement method and great quality method are used respectively in the analysis. The main research content includes the following aspects:(1) A structure model of the selected container crane is built with ANSYS software. First of all, the static analysis is finished on this model. Then the basement excitation response is calculated according to the manual for crane.(2) Acceleration peak of Wenchuan seismic wave is adjusted according to the Seismic-resistance requirements. Then baseline adjustment and filtering are accomplished with SeismoSignal software, preparing for follow-up basement excitation time-history analysis.(3)Special point of basement excitation response solution is analysed, which include the influence of gravity, load step number upper limit adjusting, discrete time-history data input, working conditions setting and investigation site setting.(4) Transient dynamics response of container crane structure is analysed with coincident acceleration method, displacement method and great quality method respectively, getting the acceleration response, displacement response and reacting force response under X-component excitation and Y-component excitation. And different scope of application of the foregoing three methods is analysed.Through research, This thesis gets the general analytical method of container crane structure basement excitation response. General rule of container crane structure basement excitation response is found after analysing the response result: direction of basement excitation severely affects the acceleration response result; Y direction displacement response of container crane structure is apparently stronger than X direction; Y direction reacting force response of container crane structure is apparently stronger than X direction.
