The Research Of Stone In Interior Design

Stone is one of building materials used earliestly and mostly. Because of its magical color, natural and fresh grain, and pleasant and gracious texture, stone is favored by human being. It is not only a kind of building material, but also a kind of vital interior decoration material. It is various, utility each different.Stone is the research object of this project. Stone’s ecological attribute, physicochemical attribute, decorative attribute, and cultural attribute are carefully classified in this paper. Started from stone attributes, the paper discussed the performance form in interior design of stone’s ecological attribute, physicochemical attribute, decorative attribute, and cultural attribute. Under the concept of ecological interior environment design, stone has two kind of decorative ways:integrity adornment and dotted adornment, which are used widely in interior decoration. Pattern spelling flowers is a kind of most important decorative method. In addition, the application of stone in interior design, create a interior landscape of stone, or the combination between stone, plants and water. Certainly, the application of stone in interior design has some limitations, such as, radioactivity and chromatic aberration. On the basis of the above-mentioned research, after the analysis of plenty of stone practical cases, the paper discussed design attributes of color and texture, which help to create a interior atmosphere, design interior effects, and choose space properties, made full use of changes in temperature, light or heavy, sense of distance, and dimension sense of stone color, and shape, trend, and degree of thickness of stone texture. Lastly, taking the lobby of the bank of China headquarters building, and New Suzhou Museum for example, it focused on the analysis of stone’s alternative uses and application techniques in interior environment design.
