Firstly, the development of reinforced concrete arch bridge and the bridge with corrugated steel webs at home and abroad was summarized. And it was concluded that the concrete arch bridge with corrugated steel webs is more advanced than the traditional concrete arch bridge. Based on the New MIDI Bridge in the city of Panzhihua. a concrete arch bridge with corrugated steel webs was designed and a finite element model based on the beam element of the whole bridge was established by the finite element analysis software of MIDAS.Responses of corrugated steel webs of concrete arch bridge under the load cases of weight, live load, concrete shrinkage and creep, and temperature were analyzed. The strength of box girder cross-section of the arch bridge under the combination of these loads was verified, and the stability of the bridge under the dead load was also analyzed. Free vibration of the arch bridge with corrugated steel webs and the traditional concrete arch bridge was analyzed by the MIDAS. Subsequently, the differences between the two kinds of bridges were compared, a same spectrum analysis about the two kinds of bridges was carried out. there was a similar dynamic behavior between the two kinds of bridges. The mechanical behavior of corrugated steel webs of the combination box girder under the compression, bending, shearing and buckling was analyzed through the general-purpose finite element software of ANSYS. Specifically, the compressive and shear capacity about corrugated webs with the changes of geometry parameters of the corrugated webs was also analyzed.And the PBL connection with no rebar through the steel plate hole was simulated by ANSYS.At last, some references and suggestions about the concrete arch bridge with corrugated steel webs were provided.
