High-speed railway has became an important trend of the world’s railway development depends on its safety, comfortability and large carrying capacity. According to the programming of railway buid in mid-long term, the current operating mileage of domesitic high-speed railway is13thousand kilo-meters. The situation of our country decided that we should adopt the transportaion mode of high-middle speed mixture.In order to use the capacity of high speed railway totally and provides the scientific basis for the allocation of railway, so we have to calculate the carrying capacity of high speed railway. The correction of result directly related to the chocise of the method, so the method of calculating high speed railway is a problem deserving of study.Firstly, the paper anlysis the current methods including the computer simulation method, minimal interval time method and deduction coefficient method.Through the anlysising, the paper gets the practicality and limitations of these three methods. Then, the paper learns from the minimal interval time method and deduction coefficient method, puting forward a new method which combined these two methods. Secondly, the paper describes the parameters of calculating methods, which includes the train group, deducted coefficient, minimal interval time to provide the theoretical basis for calculation. Finally, the paper uses the three methods to calculate the capacity of Wuhan-Guangzhou high speed raiway, through anlysising the result, it proves this new method is usable.The research and conclusions in this paper have certain practical significance on the method of calculating the carrying capacity of high speed railway.
