Passenger terminal is a kind of comprehensive transfer center, where multiple modesof transportation connect to each other and work together, therefore it is a very importantdecision to optimize passenger terminal layout and improve facilities efficiency. Theresearch presented in this dissertation is supported by NSF(No.50978115). In the research,facilities of passenger terminal are analyzed combining with pedestrian trafficcharacteristics, facilities efficiency analysis is conducted on the basis of improvingmicroscopic pedestrian simulation model, which has very obvious research value andpractical significance.The dissertation introduces related references in three aspects as following: interactionbetween passenger and facilities in passenger terminal, analysis and evaluation ofpassenger terminal, pedestrian simulation model and its application. After this, thedissertation analyzes pedestrian traffic characteristics on walking facilities and transportservice facilities, such as passage, staircase, hall, ticket selling facility and ticket checkingfacility.The dissertation defines facilities efficiency as the degree that traffic capacity ofpassenger terminal could meet passenger needs. As factors of facilities efficiency, facilitylayout, facility capacity and passenger flow organization are analyzed. Then, indicatorsystem for evaluating facilities efficiency is built considering both passenger andmanagement objective of operator, and quantification formulas for every indicator are alsogiven. The dissertation elaborates the principle of Fuzzy Overall Assessment and theprocedure of the method.This dissertation puts forward the improving directions of Social Force Model(SMF), after analyzing its application development trends, and then builds microscopicpedestrian simulation model,i.e., improved SMF. This improved model supplements evacuation self-actuated model considering passenger tension, based on the socialforce model(2002,Helbing)and attraction model of pedestrian group. In addition, theimproved model takes the pedestrian selection of facility into account, to achieve adeep interaction between pedestrian and surroundings.Subsequently, the dissertation verifies the effectiveness of the improved model usingthe recommendation value of model parameters, by designing3simulation scenes based onAnylogic as following, passengers(including group) transfer in bidirectional passage,passengers waiting and ticket checking in waiting hall and urgent evacuation in waitinghall. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of the improved SFM. Finally, the evaluation methodology of facilities efficiency and the improved SMF areapplied to facilities efficiency analysis of X passenger terminal. Based on the status offacilities efficiency at present, several improvement measures are given. Applying theimproved SMF in the process of simulation modeling for facility layout with Anylogic, thechange of facilities efficiency of present plan and improved plan are comparativelyanalyzed.The research results in this dissertation can offer methods of simulation experimentand quantitative research method, and also, they can offer decision support for operator ofpassenger terminal.
