Feeders, also known as suppliers, are often referred to as Fei da in the mounterindustry. In surface mount technology, referred to as SMT, feeder are importantcomponent of the mount machine that affect the performance and productivity.Feeders are also one of the main parts of the mount machine.Traditional feeders are usually pneumatic mechanical feeder, the power source iscylinder. Therefore, there are some flaws that can not be avoided.(1)The mechanical structure is complex, the maintenance is more inconvenient,and the feeders may be do’nt roll the tape. Due to the deformation of the springs, thefeeders can’t supply the chip correctly.(2)Using the cylinder as the power source,Therefore the relevant parts of themounter machine must have a good seal. At the same time,when the mounter headpick up of chips, mount machine have a greater mechanical vibration,so it may be lostchip.(3)Using the cylinder as the power source,the degree of automation is limitedThere are some unavoidable shortcomings in the Mechanical feeders,in view ofthis situation,and in this paper electric feeders designed and developed are to extendthe life of the feeder,reduce the maintenance costs,improve the efficiency of theplacement machine,reduce the mechanical vibration and improve theautomation,intelligent of the feeders. In this paper, the program is that using a thindisc stepping motor to bring the tape forward by the requirements of the hostcomputer. Another stepping motor driven reels and tear the protective film from thechip tape. Two motors move Synchronously in accordance with certain requirements.In order to improve the work efficiency of the placement machineA placementmachine usually is installed on more feeders.The number of Feeders installed in theplacement machine, represent the Ability of placement machine.As the forward oftape and the Peelling off the protective films are synchrouous, so we need to solve the problem of motor controlling. In the hardware part,Pic18F458is the microcontrollerof control system,L298N is the driver of stepper motor. The ID of the feeder is set byeight DIP switches.In the software part,useing the CAN bus,the transmission ofinformation between the feeders with the host, feeders and paste titles, one feeder andthe other feeders. Verified by experiment,the results prove that the feeding accuracyof the placement machine.
