The counter is the most important part of the mechanical odometer and due to count stability and low price, mechanical odometer is used widely in car motorcycle and agricultural vehicles. Our country is a large manufacturer and consumer of automobile and motorbike, and the factories produce a great quantity of odometer counter in order to meet demand. At present, there is no special automation equipment to assemble counters in china, counter production factories mostly use manual mechanical device to assemble counters, and counter assembly depends entirely on artificial operation, so the automation level and production efficiency is low, the product quality is very difficult to guarantee.To solve the problems of low-productivity, the poor consistency of product quality, and labor intensive, the writer of this article found out the corresponding solution in the mechanical structure design, the control system design and control algorithm. In this project, a high-level automation machine for assembling counter plate is developed as a substitution to manual labor, which makes the automation of counter plate assembly, a higher productivity can be obtained, and it also make the control to the quality of production efficiency.In this article, to realize the automation of counter plate assembly, the special mechanical structure is designed and analyses about the working process of machine for assembling counter plate are done. To realize the automation of counter plate assembly and measurement of displacement, the special mechanical structure is used. On the basis of actual operation of assembling counter plate, the work process is refined, and different control method is used in different stages to achieve reasonable control effect.Control system based on STM32has been developed. In the hardware design of control system, the writer of this article had completed the micro controller module liquid crystal display displacement measurement circuit design, etc. On this basis, for ensuring system work stably and reliably, the power electric current detection circuit and temperature detection circuit were added. In the software design of control system, the system control process, human interface software, acceleration control algorithm, fuzzy PID control algorithm, anomaly detection and treatment software of function module and so on are completed. The anti-interference measures in hardware and software improve the system of anti-interference ability and ensure that the system is reliable and stable operation.In control algorithm, acceleration control algorithm is researched for the rapid enforcement agencies smooth acceleration, and fuzzy PID control algorithm is used in closed loop control to guarantee the quality of the product and improve the control precision of the actuator. In acceleration of control algorithm, loop-up table in advance that micro controller STM32real-time calculated send to pulse frequency of the stepping motor, and acceleration curves can be related to revise the parameters. Through the analysis of the controlled object, a mathematical model of the controlled object was constructed, and fuzzy PID control algorithm is obtained by combination of fuzzy control and classical PID controls. Through the on the computer to use of MATLAB fuzzy PID control algorithm simulation analysis, verify the fuzzy PID control effect is good and stability and adaptability is clearly superior conventional PID control.In this article, a prototype of counter assemble machine was designed and produced, which could measure the operation time and the impact of different control method to the quality of products. Through tests, and verify the production efficiency of the counter assemble machine was increased more than100%, the product quality was guaranteed perfectly and obtained the manufacturer’s approval.
