Cardiovascular disease is one of the three common clinical diseases, whichseriously threatens to human health. Each year, tens of millions of patients die of thisdisease in the world. In China, every year there are hundreds of thousands ofpeople die from heart disease. Therefore, the use of ECG (Electrocardiogram)monitoring system for monitoring and diagnosing of cardiovascular disease is of greatsignificance. Conventional ECG machines often used in hospitals can get short-termECG, diagnose the long-time norm heart disease. However, heart disease has thecharacteristics of hidden and unexpected. There are no signs in the daily work and life,when the patient with sick goes to hospital and the symptoms may disappear again.This leads to the doctor can not timely detect abnormal ECG, delay the diagnosis andtreatment of heart disease. In addition, the traditional ECG monitoring system is bulky,high power consumption, and expensive, which are also limit its use and promotion.In recent years, with the rapid development of biomedical technology, electronictechnology, communication technology and computer technology, the research ofECG monitoring system has also made great progress.The design of this project, ECG monitoring system based on MCU that canrealize the ECG signal acquisition, processing, storage, and the display ofmeasurement results on PC. This project mainly needs to complete two tasks,the hardware circuit design and implementation, the software programming.The hardware circuit design consists of analog circuit design and digital circuit design.Firstly it is necessary to understand the basic principles and characteristics of the ECGsignal, in order to determine the design standards of the system. The analog circuitmainly achieves ECG acquisition and processing functions, by the composition of thepreamplifier circuit, the right leg drive circuit, band-pass filter circuit, post amplifiercircuit and50Hz notch circuit, etc. Circuit simulation verifies thefeasibility of ECG acquisition and processing. The digital circuit mainlyachieves single-chip control functions, by the composition of the C8051F320 microcontroller, SD card and USB interface communication circuit.Software programming includes the design of microcontroller-side software designand PC-side software design. Microcontroller programs software to convertECG analog signals into digital signals, to store data to the SD card andcommunication with PC by USB. A PC uses LabVIEW software to realize thefunctions of virtual instrument to display and control, with USBXPress DevelopmentKit, a PC can communicate with the MCU by USB.This project does seriously research about all the above work, designs andfabricates the hardware circuit of the ECG monitoring system. By simulationand experiment, verifying the feasibility of the system, realizes the functions of ECGsignal real-time acquisition, processing and transmission. LabVIEWsoftware provides a good interactive interface, in which users can observe ECG signaland set the user’s information. The system is small size, low price, easy to operate,which basically reaches the expected design requirements. Through further studyand perfect of the system, the system can meet people’s needs of the ECG monitoring,and become an important medical instrument of great economic value and socialsignificance.
