With the high-speed development in the electronic industry today,portable products get more and more popular, and this has led a highrequirement to the power management chips. Improves the energy conversionefficiency, the stability of power, reduce the size of power supply asfar as possible is the trend of power management research.In order to improve the efficiency of system transformation, thispaper designs a four switch DC-DC converter that can work over a wide rangevoltage of the battery. Four switch topology structure can realize theinput voltage and the output voltage of the same direction, but willintroduce more switch loss. So the converter in this paper will choosethe operating mode according to the input and output of the converter.reduced the switch number working at the same time. Considering theworking conditions of the system, using PWM modulation in high load andusing Burst modulation in light load, improve the light load efficiencyin light load condition. adopting the synchronous rectification, usingthe rectifier instead of the schottky diodes, further improve theconversion efficiency.At last, the converter designed in this paper realized in0.35uM CMOStechnology, the circuit simulated by Cadence Spectre,and the result showthat the converter can work regular when the input voltage and the loadcurrent at the range of2.5V-5.5V,100mA-1A, respectively. The resultmeets the design requirement.
