China’s high-speed railway develops rapidly in recent years. By the time of July1,2011, China has19high-speed railways and PDLs which speed over200km/h go into operation, total mileage reaches6484km. On one hand from July,2011, China’s high-speed railways start to use a new kind of transport organization pattern: mixed traffic transport organization pattern, On the other hand, China’s high-speed railway and PDL will operation in network in the future. Under the condition of network operation, cross-line trains will appear. There will be mixed traffic when the medium speed train runs on the high-speed line. The problems are what effect it would give rise to high-speed railway transport capacity by mixed traffic and how it influences the transport capacity. This paper is supported by the National Key Technology R&D Program. Evaluation methods of the high-speed railway transport capacity under the condition of a mixed traffic and the influence of mixed traffic on high-speed railway transport capacity is researched in this paper.Firstly this paper analyzes the transport organization pattern and the operation characteristics of high-speed railway, the characteristics of transport capacity and its influencing factors. On the foundation of this analysis, this paper researches the influence of mixed traffic on high-speed railway transport capacity.Then the paper introduces the common methods of high-speed railway transport capacity calculation and evaluation, mainly includes the deduction coefficient method, the average minimum train interval method and the timetable compression method. The applicability of each method is also analyzed.On the foundation of timetable compression, the High-speed Railway Transport Capacity Evaluation System is developed. It can accomplish creating timetable, compressing timetable, adding train, editing train, evaluating capacity and so on.At last, this paper uses the current timetable of Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway as a foundation, uses the method of timetable compression and the High-speed railway Transport Capacity Evaluation System, analyzed the influences of the high-speed railway transport capacity caused by train difference, medium speed train proportion, medium speed train stop and the scheduling mode of timetable. Through data fitting, we can get the trend of high-speed railway transport capacity follow the influencing factors. This paper provides some references for the work of scheduling high-speed railway train plan and timetable.
