The distributed optical fiber temperature sensing system is essential to the construction of national smart grid technology. In this paper, distributed optical fiber temperature sensing system for the real-time detection of the load of power cable is designed. This technology is based on the temperature effect of Raman scattering and spatial orientation of OTDR. The Gray sequence is used as the OTDR probe pulse to improve the dynamic range of the sensor system without affecting the resolution of the sensor system.MATLAB is used to verify the feasibility of this simulation. An experimental platform is built to acquire to the output of anti-Stokes and Stokes photons pulse waveform. A high signal to noise ratio signal is obtained by averaging.Based on the cable of equivalent thermal circuit model, the formula for the load capacity of the cable is deduced according to the cable structure and the equivalent thermal path analysis. The mirroring technology to conducted to analysis the temperature change of the cable and the optimum cable load is obtained when the current and the corresponding temperature in the cable is given.
