Solid FAE not only have excellent explosive power and stability, but also can simplify the structure of warhead. An analysis was made about the effect and influence by oxidants, reductants, sensitizing agent and desensitizing agent based on the published FAE charge data. According to the principles of formulation design,16 kinds of different FAE were made through choosing suitable composition. After analysizing the advantages and disadvantages and demand of charge technology, an appropriate charge method was chosed and the samples were prepared.For analysing the safety problem in the process of use and storage, inner compatibility had been tested according to the criterion of National Martial Standard’s differential scanning calorimetry experiments by DSC calorimeter, which tested different heating rates of each component and compared them with mixed systems. The results show that the design meets to the requirements.The influence of hardness and heat of combustion of FAE had been investigated by tests. The results show that the hardness becomes higher when the FAE contains more wax and less oil, and heat of combustion increases when the FAE contains more Al, oil and wax. So different FAEs can be made by adjust of the content of Al, oil and wax.The results of calculating the detonation parameters of sample which contained lowest solid composition show that the detonation pressure, the action time and impulse are higher than the same quality of TNT. It indicates that such material has good explosive performance and damage effect, which provides theoretical basis for the preparation of solid FAE in future.
