The train wheel is a key component of the locomotive. Detection of the wheel tread is a very important part of the rail transit safety testing. Railway departments have been studied and improved the technology. Wheel tread was mainly due to the locomotive due to emergency braking situation arising in the process of moving the tread damage. The wheel-flats are the key facts for the safety of operation of rail transport. The wheel tread abrasion detection system was introduced in the thesis in increasingly high demand for the safe operation of railway running. Through the research of a large number of domestic and foreign wheels wheelflats detection system, and compared the pros and cons of the existing abrasions detection system, the method used the acceleration sensors to measure the acceleration between the abrasion of the wheel and rail impact was applied. The system was used to detect the position of the wheel abrasion. By analyzing, filtering, wavelet analysis, and the threshold value judgment of the signal of the abrasions, the system achieved the size and location of the abrasions. The wheelflats detection system composed of the acceleration sensors installed below the rails and the signal acquisition system. Abrasions of information collected based on the embedded data acquisition system. In the article, the abrasions detection system achieved the overall control nd multi-channel signal sampling based on FPGA. DSP technology was used to achieve data storage and data preprocessing. And the use of wavelet transform, the threshold values for the interpolation processing, digital signal processing technology to achieve optimization of abrasions signal. Finally, through the signal characteristics of abrasions, the wheel abrasions were detected on line.
