Shipbuilding gantry crane is a kind of special lifting equipment working in the shipyard dock or boat platform. With the fast development of shipbuilding industry in China, the demand of shipbuilding gantry crane continues to expand, and the crane developing towards large-scale, light, high-speed, automated and intelligent. As the design of crane is lag behind at present, improving design standards and design efficiency is very important for the enterprises to enhance the competitiveness.Based on the modularization of shipbuilding gantry crane, this paper developed a set of rapid customization of the virtual prototype and evaluation system for the virtual prototype of shipbuilding gantry crane, using object-oriented thinking, hybrid reasoning mechanism, parametric variant design, virtual prototyping technology and database technology.Main contents of the paper are as follows:1. Establishment of shipbuilding gantry crane modular system:Divided the whole crane into six first-level base module and a number of second-level base modules, using the division method focusing on function. Establish module planning model based on module matrix.2. Establishment of rapid customization of the virtual prototype for the virtual prototype of shipbuilding gantry crane, using object-oriented thinking:Make the rule-based and case-based reasoning mechanisms run alternately considering hybrid reasoning mechanism, and form the initial configuration by their cross-application information and results. Check the preliminary design automatically based on shipbuilding gantry crane design knowledge. Realize the automatic acquisition of interface parameters between the various parts, and complete the rapid modeling and automatic assembly of the parts, using the overall control of the local parameters of variant design method, and developing API functions by Solid Works.3. Establishment of evaluation system for the virtual prototype of shipbuilding gantry crane, based on the superiority of the virtual prototype simulation:Establish the three-dimensional solid model of the shipbuilding gantry crane according to rapid customization, and establish the virtual prototype which can reflect real working conditions of the crane by ADAMS. Add the drive function and script simulation control function, and simulate various conditions of the simulation of shipbuilding gantry crane, in combination with programming on ADAMS. Analyze the corresponding curves of the various conditions, evaluate of shipbuilding gantry crane stability, and verify the design correctness.From the point of view of integration, the system developed in this paper used the prototype evaluation and rapid custom design in shipbuilding gantry crane, and form a closed loop, which improve the design level and design efficiency of the crane to some extent:The rapid custom design systems avoided duplication of design, and improved design efficiency. Prototype evaluation system verified the validity and rationality of the design. Designers can modify the design in time by combining evaluation results and design process, which satisfies the needs of practical application.
