During the12th five-year plan, more than20seats mine which can produce ten million tons of coal will be built. Belt conveyor is the main lifting equipment in large modern mine, the performance requirements of more and more is also high. Tensioning devices is the necessary parts which can guarantee the normal operation of the belt conveyor, especially for the long distance, large-capacity belt speed, high large belt conveyor; it directly affects its dynamic characteristics of belt conveyor safe and reliable operation. So, for a device is the dynamic characteristic research of the device play the very important role.This paper first introduces the development history of tensioning devices, the domestic and foreign research progress, and belt conveyor tensioning device of parameters. And this paper introduces new generation ZJ-120/45D to be automatic frequency conversion of the composition of the structure and the working principle, established the mathematical model of the mechanical system, and obtained the control block diagram of automatic frequency conversion tensioning devices. On the belt conveyors friction transmission principle were introduced, through the analysis of the conveyor belt mechanical characteristics, established the belt conveyor discrete system dynamic model.Take a big coal mine6.0km belt conveyor as a prototype, uses AMEsim dynamics simulation software to establish the belt conveyor tensioning device and automatic frequency conversion of dynamics simulation model, through the establishment of dynamic model, it is concluded that a tight force and displacement2d graph about automatic frequency conversion speed tensioning devices, when the belt conveyor start with full load conditions, and a3d speed, displacement, tension graph about bearing period of conveyor belt, analyzes when the start with full load conditions, the dynamic characteristics of automatic frequency conversion tensioning devices and conveyor belt. The results show:Starting with full load conditions, and start after55s, the tail begins to start, and the tail speed curve slope is significantly greater than the speed with slope. So, the instantaneous impact is bigger, easy to produce the oscillation. The conveyor belt tension is about the tail of4.87times, the nose of the displacement is about13m or so poorer than the tail. In the start-up process, the maximum force is about28.5kN. When finishing, the tensioning force is about28.0kN. In the last, a study is done which is a comparative study about automatically variable frequency tensioning devices and hammer tensioning devise, draw:in coal mine using automatic frequency conversion tensioning devices need small tight schedule, compare with a heavy hammer a device, the tight schedule is reduced about2.7times.
