This paper researches the reliability of high rated power gearbox in wind turbine application with the project of license transfer from RENK to our company for the AEROGEAR technical solution. The major studies are as the following:1、 It analyses the state of the art of the development and the trend of the wind turbine gearbox and introduces the market capacity and future development trend in China and global. It also introduces the failure mode often happened in the wind turbine gearbox and the structure design plan in China and outside China. It elaborates the practical significance of the high rated power wind turbine design and study. Especially the large scale application of high rated power wind turbine gearboxes provides the new research direction for the expansion of the development of offshore wind turbine gearboxes.2、 It analyses the general structure types of the gearboxes in China and outside China. According to the parameter requirement of the wind turbine manufacturer and the AEROGEAR structure plan of RENK, we make the gearbox structure plan as one stage compound planetary gear pluses one parallel stage. Then do the teeth assignment calculation according to the gear ratio, establish the model for the calculation of the gear force to do the calculation of the force of each transmission stage. Use Kisssoft software to validate the design of the contact safety factor and the bending safety factor of each gearing stage.3、 It analyses the coordination system of he gearbox during the operation of the wind turbine, types of the load of the wind turbines and their impacts to the gear boxes. It introduces the process method of the wind turbine loads, elaborates the equivalent torque and the linear damage accumulation theor---Miner theory. Uses linear damage accumulation theory to establish the calculation model of the equivalent torque and application factor to calculate the application factor of this research object.4、 It analyses the selection method of bearings based on the normal life time, the method of load bin reduction, prominently elaborates the calculation method of Lumping Neighbouring Load Bin, Weighted Load Averaging, Weighted Life Averaging. It sets forth the methods of Equivalent Bearing Load, Maximum Rolling Element Load, Contact Pressure Factors, Calculating the Contact Stress, etc to select the bearing types and calculate the life time with professional bearing company FAG together.5、 It analyses the principle and the calculation method of the power loss and efficiency, sets forth the measurements of improving the capacity of taking heat load and the design requirement of the lubrication system. Establish the schematic diagram of the lubrication system for this researching object, sets forth the principle of the lubrication system and the main control signals and parameters. The validity of the power loss design has been verified by the test.
