With the rapid development of wind power industry,a large number of wind turbine are installed and used,and wind farms are around in China.Wind Turbine has become an indispensable part of Chinese electric power industry.However,the failure of the frequent occurrence has caught our attention,especially those in the gear box part.In this paper,the main failure mode of gear box is analyzed and studied.The gear box,an important component of wind turbine,whose main role is increasing speed and transmitting power torque,generally builded in a small cabin tens of meters to one hundred meters high from the ground.Once the gear box failure,it will directly affect the accuracy and efficiency of the overall wind turbine,which even lead the wind turbines to stop and damage,and whose maintenance very difficult.The gear box is closed gear box,whose vibration characteristics are closely connected with the fault.The severe vibration will cause the gear eccentricity and fracture to affect the accuracy of the transmission.Main failure in the gear box is pitting,wear,adhesion and fatigue break,mostly occurred on the transmission gears.Therefore,in order to ensure the stability and accuracy of gear transmission,it is necessary to analyze the main components of planet carrier and planet gears.Especially for the main failure forms,the main research on the vibration characteristics and lubrication characteristics facilitate repair and maintenance in the future of wind turbine gearbox.The main contents of this study are as follows:(1)To determine the transmission scheme of wind turbine gearbox for a planetary transmission and two parallel shaft gear transmission scheme,completed the design of the key transmission parts of planetary gear,ring gear,planetary gear,sun gear shaft,gear shaft speed.Completed the three-dimensional modeling of components through the UG software,to achieve the overall assembly.(2)The modal analysis of planetary carrier,planetary gear and high speed output helical gear shaft are carried out,and their first ten natural frequencies and modes are analyzed.(3)Contact analysis on the planetary gear and the sun gear,planetary gear and internal gear,helical gear speed were completed,contact stress and distribution were obtained Completed analysis of temperature distribution of planetary gear.Based on the angle of the lightweight,the planetary carrier were improved,the quality and volume decreased significantly,reduce the impact on the wind turbine gearbox and tower life.(4)The effect factor of friction on contact stress,temperature field and natural frequency are studied.The results show that when the friction factor increases,the contact stress is increased,the temperature is increased and the natural frequency is decreased.
