In the past ten years, Wind power industry has made remarkable achievement that was growing fastest. However, the high failure rate of wind turbine change gearbox has been severely restricted the cost of wind power, and wind power gear contact failure is the main cause of the gearbox transmission malfunction. In addition, the transmission efficiency of wind change speed gearbox has not been improved effectively, so that the transmission capacity of the entire wind power drive system has been seriously affected. At the same time, this hampered the wind turbine gearbox transmission efficiency, couldn’t made it be effectively improved. In view of the above problems wind change speed gearbox existed, this paper put forward a proposition, namely in the wind turbine gearbox with asymmetric involute cylindrical gear. And the reliability of asymmetric involute gear used in wind turbine gearbox can be proved by analysing the stress characteristic and transmission errorThe paper deduced asymmetric involute equation, asymmetric tooth profile equations and fillet curve equations, according to the generating principle of involute. This could provide asymmetric involute cylindrical gear accurate modeling with theoretical guidance. Also this paper has been analyzed the gear meshing characteristics, introduced the calculation formula of contact ratio in the asymmetric internal and external meshing gear pair, and gave a kind of gear cutting tool design form.Complying with the standard of wind power gearbox design and manufacturing, this paper researched the design requirements of the gear. According to the load, the reliability and gear transmission efficiency and other aspects, the detailed performance research has been carried. It can provide asymmetric involute gear design and processing with reference standard. Moreover, it introduced the wind turbine gearbox drive structure and common malfunction forms. And the rounded analysis about the failure mechanism has been made.Based on the wind power gearbox transmission system with one planetary wheel+two stages parallel shafts, The change of drive contact stress has been calculated by using analytical method and finite element two method in the gear pair working process. The result showed that the finite element method could more accurately reflect the stress change of asymmetric gear pair. In addition, the factors of impacting gear transmission accuracy were discussed, and the mathematics model of solving asymmetric involute gear transmission error was established by using the linear programming method.Combined with the importance of setting up an experimental platform for wind change speed gearbox, the status and development direction of domestic and foreign wind power gearbox experiment platform were summarized. Besides, the paper had provided a kind of design scheme about asymmetric gearbox experimental platform.
