During the National Eleventh Five-Year Plan, Jilin Province plans to build2,000km ofexpressways. In addition to the part of new construction, there is a considerable part to usethe old road of renovation and expansion. But with the development of road transportation,the growing volume of traffic, the gradually worsening of heavy traffic, accelerated thepavement structure damage and fatigue damage. How to make good use of the old road forrenovation and expansion of the highway, reduce the number of land acquisition, reduce thenumber of demolition, reduce the cost of the project, reduce the demolition of the amount isvery urgent.The old road reconstruction design work is almost entirely according to the currentspecification. Regarding to the road works with particular characteristics, we should studyand explore the corresponding structural design problem for the alteration and remodelingdesign work. The paper combined with practical engineering, Study the following problems:(1) The Old Road (National highway302Hun Wu segment) traffic survey;(2)Comprehensive survey, evaluation and reason analysis of the road used performance arecarried out in the original old road (State Road302Hun-wu segment, a Class I highway),including survey and testing of road surface damaged condition, rutting, pavement strength,skid resistance and pavement roughness. In particular, a large number of coring test analysisof the rutting are carried out.(3) Through surveys, research and analysis, combined with theactual situation at the scene pavement reinforcing concrete measures: reinforcing variousdiseases before processing. Treat the cracks in accordance with the width of the cracks; tothe partial road subsidence, If the soil-based and the grassroots dense and stable, we canmerely repair the surface layer; If the subgrade of base is in good condition, only to repairwhen the surface layer has trenches; to the slight net crack sections, it can take the programof patching the surface layer; to the serious net crack sections, we can dug up then re-pavingthe surface layer and the base; Especially taking the ruts as the focus, to the sections Ruttingless than15mm, nap after cleaning up the surface layer, and then paving as the old way ofreinforcement program; Rutting more than15mm, clean out the original pavement surface and then paving as the old way of reinforcement program. And then when we determine theold road section of the pavement structure program, it should combined with the rut depth、the size of the deflection value and uniform consideration of the core sample test. Using roaddedicated program (PADS) calculates the deflection and the layer of low tensile stress. Eachdesign segment allows the deflection value (L0) from the design documents, and preparedpavement reinforcing concrete reinforcement paragraph by the core sample test.This paper is a practical project for the National highway302Songyuan to Baichengsegment, proposes the specific measures of pavement reinforcement, maximize use of theexisting old road, and it saves the cost, provides a detailed and reliable data for the designdepartment, has some guiding significance for the similar design of renovation andexpansion of high-grade highway.
