At present, in Hunan, with the rapid development of economy and the continuous improvement of science and technology, the semi-rigid base asphalt pavement has gradually become the main pavement structure form of arterial highway in the province. But at the same time, the early damage of semi-rigid asphalt pavement is generally concerned by the society. Optimizing the load, Inter-layer bond, layer thickness and other factors, analyzing force state and failure mechanism of semi rigid base asphalt pavement, emphasizing on the rationality of the structure design of asphalt pavement, improving the rationality of semi-rigid asphalt pavement structure and reducing or avoiding the early damage of asphalt pavement are urgent problems to be studied deeply at the present stage.In this thesis, the main semi rigid base asphalt pavement structures are surveyed.. Types and causes of pavement disease are investigated. We summed up the main damage forms of asphalt pavement:cracks and ruts. The mechanical indexes of the early damage of pavement are put forward. And the main thrust of this thesis is proposed, which is optimizing asphalt pavement structure to prevent and cure semi-rigid pavement diseases.Using numerical analysis software and considering the effect of inter-layer bond between surface layer and base layer, structure layer thickness, overload and other factors, design control mode and design index of semi rigid base asphalt pavement are proposed. Finally, the typical structure of trunk asphalt pavement with heavy traffic is derived.In this thesis, two types of inter-layer binding between surface layer and base layer are validated in Hunan province, which are slurry seal and synchronous macadam seal. The optimum asphalt content is put forward under them.In the end of this thesis, the construction of the test road was carried out to verify the typical structure of asphalt pavement. At the same time, some suggestions and measures for the construction are proposed.
