Shock absorber is a key element of the auto shock-absorber system, whose characteristics directly influence the security and reliability when a car is being driven. The damping force of the shock absorber is required to test on line at the end of the shock absorber assembly line. A relationship between the damping force and the displacement travelled through by measured shock absorber during the running cycle of being stretched and compressed is tested graphically so that the characteristics of the shock absorber can hence be evaluated by analyzing the smoothness of the indicator diagram. This assures that the shock absorber with troubles can be thrown out at the end of the assembly line.The method of traditional measuring shock absorber is measured by artificial method.Workers analysis the smoothness of the indicator diagram, and judging whether the shock is correspond to the requirement. This method is required workers, which have skilled experience and be familiar with common defects types of shock absorber and know Which position of indicator diagram defects appear. The method has great subjectivity, which is influence of skilled working degree.The method can be only applied for offline. With development of automation, this is far from meeting the requirements of the production of the enterprise. Based on this kind of situation a method was put forward in this paper, which is a method of automatic judgment of shock absorber damping-displacement curve. After the test completed test system can be automatic to judge to shock absorber according to indicator diagram of shock absorber. To a certain extent. It improves the efficiency of the production of the enterprise.The article is organized in a way that the introduction of the test system’s structure and principle is followed by the interface design, system functions and software design, the testing data and result discussion is finally presented. Building mathematical model of damping force of cars shock absorber, and using Matlab to simulat damping-displacement.
