Motorcycle shock absorbers can mitigate and absorb the impact from pavement, andalso control dive speed of motorcycle at acceleration and deceleration, have a great impacton motorcycle maneuverability, stability, and security. So the research of damping forceplays a very important part in the shock absorber design. When driving on the bumpy road,the shock absorber subject to the impact of ground, through the relative movement of thepiston and cylinder, they will generate damping force, because the presence of the dampingforce, shock absorber turn the mechanical energy into heat, and then diffused to the outside.It is precisely because of this feature, the shock absorbers can absorb vibration, Dampingforce becomes a very important part of the damper design. Because of its importance, thisarticle was carried out to research.on the source and background of the subject, firstly, this paper introduces motorcyclesuspension arrangement form, the basic structure, and then analyzed the vibration model,through it, we can understand the role of the damping force in the entire system and theimpact of damping force coefficient in the vibration.Make fluid simulation for absorber based on ANSYS Workbench, simulate the reactionof valve plate and fluid, then assume that valve plate beard uniformly distributed load. In theprocess of establishing damping force mathematical modeling, the deformation of the valveplate calculation is the critical point and also difficult, through the current understanding ofthe valve plate deformation calculation method, this article uses a method of big deflectionformula based on workbench, and be verified by mechanical design manual, based on this,the working principle and characteristics of shock absorber were analyzed in detail. Thenestablish the mathematical model of the damping force, and compared with the test resultsof the test bench. And then do error analysis, through the comparison, the result can beAcceptable, Because in the process of the testing damping force on the bench test, thedamping spring is removed, the bench test results actually contains the damping force andthe frictional force, and the frictional force affect the performance and life of the damper, soaccording to the working state of the bench, the friction under lateral load or not all wereanalyzed and then establish the mathematical model, And compared with the experimentalresults,then draw viable conclusions.
