Space has the obvious natural and social property; it is not only the place human act and percept but also the tool to clear the ethics. Space, especially the man-made space can be divided into exterior and interior space according to the different positions.Exterior space is the extension of the interior space and it is important to the human being activities. As the improvement of the live continues, people also expect high quality of exterior space. This article is to summaries the technical and regulars through the way when we combine the actual sample and practical analyze the relevant based on research of relevant concept and theory.This article will concentrate on the researching of space and the main topics are all about“space”and“landscape architecture”.Firstly it will be started from the analysis of the concept of space followed by exterior space and landscape architecture so that the direction and content of the research can be clarified. Based on that, we will continue the research according to the final physical form of the space, type of category, the usage of property, the way of combination, the space status, boundary status, position of space. The article will also differentiate and categorize the various primary elements of the space.In the wideness of the research, it will be split into two ways which consists of materialism and non-materialism. The materialism includes: the size via proportion, One-tenth theory, theory of traditional art of geomantic omen. The non-materialism includes: theory of phenomenology, configuration psychology, environmental psychology and environmental behavior and so on.All the factors of the landscape architecture design of the space will be analyzed based on the sufficient analysis of concept and theory.
