Research On The Conservation And Development Of Traditional Ancient Villages

As the country’s important historical and cultural village with a high cultural,aesthetic, and spiritual values, Xiushui Village is not only a place where people live butalso the carrier of traditional and folk culture of Guangxi. However, with the rapidadvance of urbanization of Guangxi, Xiushui Village is facing the dual problems ofprotection and development. Based on the background of the rapid urbanization, how topreserve the history of the Silk Village Authenticity with the sustainable developmentof the ancient village, has been an important research topics to urban planners andexperts.With the purpose to provide guidance for the development and conservation ofXiuShui and the other ancient village in Guangxi, This paper focus on the conservationand the development of XiuShui to finds out the related solution.This paper consists of three parts content as following:The first part (chapter1) is about the research topics. In this part, the paper proposethe content of the study, methods and the research framework after the review of therelated research about the topics both in China and abroad.The second part (chapter2and chapter3) pose the question and propose thecorresponding solutions after over viewing of the case. In chapter2, the features andthe historical cultural value of XiuShui is summarized after the system analysis on thehistorical evolution of the spatial form, the pattern of settlement space, and other factors.In chapter3, based on the result of the field survey, the author poses the question facedand proposes the related methods to solute it.In the last part (chapter4, chapter5, chapter6), the solution is proposedcomprehensive. In chapter4, this paper discourse the methods of conservation anddevelopment for XiuShui, then the implementation strategy is following in chapter5. Inchapter6, the research conclusion is discussed, and the future research direction isposed.
