| Immigrant movement is one of important approaches to culture transmission, which have significant influence to the ingoing area in population economics, cultural traditions, manners and customs. During Ming and Qing dynasties, The grandiose immigrant movement happened among Hubei Province and the surrounding areas which make population and productivity get redistribution, at the same time,cultural exchange and communication get strengthened among these areas. In the push of natural environment and social background, Shiyan in the northwest region of Hubei Province became the immigrant’s settlement during Ming and Qing dynasties. Thus this paper tries to take immigrants of Hubei Province during Ming and Qing dynasties as the clue to explore the characteristics of the traditional architecture in Shiyan area. This paper starts from analysis on the type, form, and other aspects of the features of the traditional settlements and building distribution, then illustrates the important potential influence on its development and evolution which the immigrant movement in Hubei Province during Ming and Qing dynasties brings.Based on the analysis of background, lines and reasons of immigrant movement in Hubei Province during Ming and Qing dynasties, this topic were determined to take the traditional architecture of Immigration channel in the Shiyan areas as research object. In the process of wide field research and deep documentary analysis, the study sample which is related to the native were picked up. This article summarizes the basic characteristics of the regional traditional architecture which is influenced by immigrant movement during Ming and Qing dynasties, and reveals dynamic development and evolvement process in history under the background of regional emigration route through the vertical comparison with the local traditional settlements and architecture and the horizontal comparison with traditional settlements and architecture in the emigrant area, by importting historic research thinking from the aspects of number, type, shape, the plane layout, space combination, facade of the building. |
