A Study Of Professor Li Xiankui’s Academic Thought

The southwest region of China’s which is one of the important district in modernarchitecture, architectural history, architectural education development, has beenbuilding academic and educational development of the representative area since thefounding of the PRC. However, research on the southwest region construction ofacademic history and architectural research relatively scarce. In this study, selected LiXiankui as the object of study is because he is who is good at southwest ofarchitectural history study in a transitional figure. At the same time, Mr. Li in theMinistry of Construction and extensive work experience, so that his cross-disciplinaryresearch involving a variety of academic development and national construction andsocial development in close contact. To a certain extent, the phase shift on behalf of Mr.Li Xiankui’s academic thought is a microcosm of the development trajectory ofconstruction disciplines in the new period. As a witness and participant of Chinesearchitectural development, Li Xiankui’s academic thoughts on deepening the currentdevelopment of the construction business have the important meaning and value. Atthe same time, the body of Mr. Li Xiankui concentrate contains the older generationarchitecture diligent, pragmatic, and positive spirit of struggle. The article based on thestudy of the academic thoughts of Li Xiankui, shows the process of his academicresearch, and gives objective assessment of his academic thought. What can play aneffective guide and inspire a new generation of architectural students and encouragethem to engage in the development of the discipline of architectural history.On the base of reading the writings of Mr. Li and mastering a large number of oralhistorical data about the Mr. Li Xiankui, firstly, the paper systematic and detailedreview about Mr. Li’s growth experience, studies the experience, education, workexperience. Then, the paper explains his various academic ideas, main characteristicsand academic significance, on the basis of comparative study the related academicresearch illustrates and the main content of academic thinking, including Mr. LiXiankui’s traditional architectural culture, traditional houses, landscapes, cities andpeople ranking environmental.Finally, this paper summarizes the characteristics of the academic thought of Mr.Li Xiankui, gives evaluation according to the author’s understanding, and points outthe shortcoming of this study and revelation, in the last part.
