Research On Mr.Zhang Lianggao's Academic Thought Of Landscape Architecture

Mr.Lianggao Zhang(1923—2015)is one of the leading architects of the second generation in China and one of the founders of the Department of Architecture of Huazhong University of Science and Technology.His academic activities span three disciplines: architecture,planning and landscape.He has made remarkable achievements in landscape building,cultural landscape and natural scenery.As one of the pioneers in cross-border landscape architecture in China,Mr.Zhang is of typical significance in architecture colleges and universities.This paper uses literature review,manuscript interpretation,case analysis,situational experience,interviews and other methods to study Mr.Zhang Lianggao's academic thought of landscape architecture.The paper is divided into three parts: basic research,classification research and research conclusion.First of all,through the analysis of Mr.Zhang Lianggao's life experience,education background and career,we can find the development track of his landscape architecture academic thought.Secondly,according to the field of his expertise,his academic thoughts of landscape architecture are classified from three aspects: landscape building,cultural landscape and natural Scenery.In regard to Landscape Building,through the interpretation of the theory of Landscape Building in the study of the restoration of Wudang Mountain,Pile House and Grand View Garden,combined with the analysis of the design cases such as the Soviet Air Force Martyr Monument in Wuhan Liberation Park,Guiyuan Temple Yunjizhai Vegetable House,Anlu Li Bai Memorial Hall and Guoshan Music Circles in Zhushan County,the Landscape Building thought of "Tong(Fusion),Yu(Control),Li(Reason),He(Harmony)" was summarized.In terms of cultural landscape,this paper interprets the theories of settlement evolution,land use patterns,cultural transmission,environmental awareness and religious beliefs reflected in the three works of ArtemisiaWorld,Historic Insights into Ba and Wuling Tujia,and combines the text of its world cultural heritage,historic and cultural villages,as well as National Cultural Heritage Site.Through the analysis of the case of landscape heritage,the cultural landscape thought of "Kan(Survey),Yuan(Source),Qiu(Quest),Zhen(Truth)" was summarized.In the aspect of natural scenery,through the interpretation of scenery perception and aesthetic thoughts reflected in his scenery poems,and the analysis of natural heritage cases in the four systems of World Natural Heritage,National Nature Reserve,National Geopark and National Forest Park,this paper summarizes his natural scenery thoughts of "Jing(Artistic conception),Bi(Comparison)".At last,the paper summarizes the value and contribution of Mr.Zhang Lianggao's academic thought of landscape architecture: his research on Landscape building reveals the attributes of the Royal Garden of Taoist landscape building in Wudang Mountain,enriches the historical theory of landscape architecture in China;his research on cultural landscape promotes all kinds of cultural landscape in Western Hubei to enter into various cultural landscape heritage protection systems.It has the significance of a pioneer in the study of cultural landscape in Bachu area;His natural scenery theory promotes the natural scenery in Western Hubei to enter the protection system of natural heritage at all levels,which has the significance of a pioneer in the study of natural scenery in Western Hubei.The innovation of this paper lies in three aspects: for the first time,it systematically collates Zhang Lianggao's life experience and academic career;for the first time,it systematically reveals Mr.Zhang Lianggao's academic thought of landscape architecture;at the same time,based on the perspective of landscape architecture,it has the innovative value of research perspective.
