| Rammed earth building has been widely used in western rural regions of China.Although it has the advantages of lower cost and heat preservation, as well ascomfortability and environmental protection, The traditional rammed earth buildingeasily damaged in earthquake as a result of arbitrary materials selection, roughlyconstruction technology, as well as lacking of basic structural design and effectiveseismic construction measures. This paper mainly research on how to improve thedesign and construction, as well as enhancing the earthquake-resistance behavior oframmed earth building through the improvement of materials, structural design,structural measures and construction technology.Based on the field survey of rammed earth buildings in the southwest rural regionsof China, firstly, according to experimental research on the undisturbed soil andmodified rammed earth materials, as well as experimental research on the horizontalshear strength of the rammed earth wall, then basic mechanical properties of rammedearth materials, such as the density and particle composition, water content andcompressive strength, as well as internal friction angle and cohesion etc. after observingthe working process and damage form, and measuring the horizontal displacement andshear strength, then proposing the calculation formula of shear bearing capacity oframmed earth wall.Secondly, this paper completes seismic analysis of rammed earth building in thelocality by equivalent base shear method and ANSYS finite element method, meanwhile,giving supplement of lateral-resisting limit bearing capacity calculation method oframmed earth wall section located in appendix A《specification of seismic technology for houses in villages and towns》. In addition,this article summarizes the deformationcharacteristics and the differences of deformation among rammed earth buildings undervertical load and horizontal earthquake.Finally, according to local earthquake investigation and analysis, this paper alsosummarizes the existing problems of rammed earth buildings in the aspects of architectand structure. In order to enhance the seismic safety performance of rammed earthbuildings, this article also puts forward a series of improving technology to improve thedesign and construction standard of rammed earth buildings. |
