Inlet valve is a pivotal and regulative part of turbine equipment, and theperformance of inlet valve decides safety and efficiency of steam turbine.The system of inlet valve in high temperature gas cooled reactornuclear turbine is the research object in this article. According to40yearschecked life of turbine and safety design requirement of nuclear turbine, thepaper calculates the flow rate of inside valve and high temperature intensityof steady rate or non-steady rate of the main body of valve base on themodularized design of inlet valve. At the same time, the calculation givesgist of engineering design for the valve.The steam strainer in the inlet valve brings about pressure loss whenthe steam is flowing in the valve, and the steam strainer has a complexstructure. So in the calculation, the steam strainer adopts a model with aporous medium to meet the requirement of calculation and analysis for flowrate and pressure loss in main stop valve and governing valve. According to the conclusion of the calculation, the pressure loss of inlet valve will be to9%when the valve is opening smallness, and the pressure loss is about1.8%when the valve is opening absolutely. The data of temperature field for valvewith different opening space is the base of calculation and analysis tothermal stress and high temperature creep damage with the valve. After thecalculation and analysis, in the40years turbine running, the creep damagewill be to about0.34, and it is need to watch the operating of the inlet valvefrequently.
