Concrete face rockfill dam has been widely used in modern hydraulic and hydropowerengineering project as its simple structure, fast construction and low cost and so on. Duringthe construction process there exist several dig and fill locations, material allocating andfilling constitute the whole dam construction system. The construction process was notonly affected by internal factors such as proceeding arrangement, road intensity etc., butalso affected by external factors such as flood-prevent and resources supply. The analysisof every aspects and make the practicable construction plan is a very important problem. Inrecent years, computer simulation technology has been widely applied in hydraulicengineering as it can simulate different influential factors fast and accurate, analysis thesensible factors and optimize the plan.In order to analysis the influential factors during the construction process. The paperstudied the material excavate and allocate, transport system and dam deck constructionsystem. Firstly researches the material allocates system, analysis different kinds of factorsand the material supply process. Calculate the allocate quantity under the lowest cost andestablish the optimization goal with dynamic planning method then to optimize the plan.By analysis the road and transport flow, the author determine every aspects of thework flow and influential factors, then adopted the cyclic queue theory to establish thetransport simulation model. Load the road transport intensity as dominate fator. Simulatethe road intensity and transport quantity according to construction plan, the transportcircuit and material allocate results. Then optimize the machine configuration.The dam fill method has been studied in this paper, the whole dam was divided intoseveral sections and every section has its own construction method and deck area. Therockfill section was constructed with flow operation and other section was constructed withsequential operation. Then establish the dam work simulation model and considered therain, height difference, construction sequential and other constraints with distributed eventssystem simulation theory. With this system, the construction process and resources can beanalyzed and optimized.Then implement the highly efficient graphic rendering engine-OGRE(Object-oriented Graphic Rendering Engine) to develop the concrete face rockfill damdynamic three dimensional visual system, the way of modeling in3D visual system has been studied and the data synchronism mechanism has been studied, the fast modelingmethod and simulation data synchronic display has been achieved.Lastly, take HeKoucun concrete face rockfill dam as a practical project and developedthe CFRD construction simulation system. The system was applied to analysis differentfactors in the construction process, the program can simulate the plan, analysis thesimulation results, display the3D visual and some other functions. it can be applied forconstruction plan consultation and decision making.
