As a kind of equipment of highly integrated of mechanical, electrical and fluid, the rotary drilling rig, whose work environment is complex that reliability, stability and security should be the basic requirements. The experience domestic and foreign shows that, the reliability of products is determined by design, and guaranteed by manufacturing, installation and management. Therefore, the researching on reliability of rotary drilling rig and the introduction of reliability theory and methods to the development of rotary drilling rig and related products, which are significant for improving the competitiveness of rotary drilling rig currently.Based on the analysis and comparison of methods of mechanical reliability analysis domestic and foreign currently, and on the characteristics of the reliability of key components of rotary drilling rig, the paper proposed a kind of method of reliability analysis which is suitable for the key components of rotary drilling rig. What’s more, the paper took the friction-pressurized drilling rod of rotary drilling rig for example, and proved the applicability of the method.The main content of the paper is as follows:1. On the basis of reviewing of extensive literature, the article analysised and compared the advantages and disadvantages of methods of mechanical reliability analysis domestic and foreign currently.2. Based on the characteristics of the reliability of key components of rotary drilling rig, the paper proposed a kind of method of reliability analysis which is suitable for the key components of rotary drilling rig. The core content is as follows: first, the qualitative analysis method of reliability of key components of rotary drilling rig with FTA-FMECA; second, the structural reliability analysis method with Matlab.3. Took the reliability problems of a certain friction-pressurized drilling rod of rotary drilling rig for example, the article made the qualitative analysis and reliability analysis and calculation, and then made corresponding reliability optimization based on the results. The main work is the static strength reliability under the effect of static and the fatigue reliability under the effect of dynamic load. The index is reliability, reliability sensitivity and fatigue life. The Reliability is calculated with Monte-carlo importance sampling method and checking point method together with matlab program.The analysis process shows that, to the key components of rotary drilling rig, the integrated method of FTA-FMECA can effectively analysis its main failure modes, and improve reliability; as conducting the calculations of structural reliability, the checking point method together with matlab program can effectively approximate calculation the probability of failure. The method is effective for reliability analysis of key components of rotary drilling rig.
