At present, Rotary Drilling Rig, as one of the high-end equipments with the most technology and the highest Electro-hydraulic integration in the large-diameter pile foundation of the engineering, have completely transformed from the import to independent manufacturing-based research and development mainly in our country, and their use is becoming more and more wide. Thus, the research of rotary drilling rig and its key components is becoming a more and more urgent task. At the same time, the introduction of a new design technique using the finite element method for researching and designing the structure of rotary drilling rig and its key components has also become a trend. Combining the National 863 Projects, the finite element method is applied to make a detailed and in-depth study of the strength and stiffness of driling mast of Rotary Drilling Rig and optimization of the design. The main work is as follows:The status of research and development of the rotary drilling rig at home and abroad is summarized. The structure characteristics and principles of working of the Rotary Drilling Rig and its drilling mast are analyzed. Then the meanings and the content of the thesis are pointed out.The mechanical models of the drilling mast Rotary Drilling Rig are derived under the three working conditions such as drilling-mast-lifting condition, drilling-bucket-lifting condition and drilling condition. Then the calculation modules are programmed with MATLAB to give results of the mechanics behaviors of rotary drilling rig, which establish the base for the strength and stiffness analysis and optimization design.Appling both of 3D modeling software Solidworks and the finite element analysis software ANSYS, the mast finite element model is established. We study the strength and stiffness of mast under the three working conditions. In addition, we find out the weak positions that offer reliable information for the further optimization of structure and submit the reasonable suggestion for improving the structure.Taking SWDM-22 rotary drilling rig as the experimental platform, pressure testing in drilling-mast-lifting condition and three stress experiments respectively corresponding with the simulation process are completed. The experimental results verify that the theoretical analysis and the simulated models in this study are effective and practical.APDL and UIDL are applied to make a secondary development on ANSYS interface. With the optimized module which the ANSYS software provides, we build a mast parametric model using the simple beam Elements, and research the effect of the main parameters to the strength and stiffness of mast. We make sure the best value of parameters and the most superior combination of these parameters to improve the mast stress distortion and reduce the mast weight.In this paper, we use the finite element method and the modern optimal design method to analyze the structure. This can raise the accuracy and the efficiency of computation, short the product design cycle, as well as advance the quality and reliability of products, consequently bring obvious economic benefit, so it has some novelty and advantage.
