Most of our village building is masonry structure with the poor seismicperformance, backward technology, economic lag and serious seismic damage. Therefore, the study of the aseismatic technology and the seismic damping technologyto village building has great significance. As the advantages of obtaining raw materiallocally, simple and effective, economical and practical, the using of the two newisolation technologies "asphalt-sand sliding layer" and "bound rubber bunch" is themost effective way to solve the rural buildings of this situation. In this paper theexperimental study is carried out on the two kinds of technology. The study has quantified the influence of the four factors: vertical compress stress, the mixture ratio of tar sands, types of bundling, connections of the up and down thering beams, to the quasi-static test. It has also conducted quasi-static tests on eightwalls of4types: the first wall with no sliding layer, the second with asphalt-sand slidinglayers of different mix ratio, the third with bound rubber bunch and a consolidated onein order to explore their destruction process, forms of destruction and the energyconsumption of the sliding layers, and analyze their earthquake resistance performancefrom aspects like deformation and ductility, rigidity degradation and energyconsumption and so on.According to the observatory records and the processed data of the experiments, aconclusion can be drawn:(1) The walls with seismic isolation devices obviously improve the deformationability and the plastic energy dissipation capacity and it’s stiffness don’t changeparticularly while the ones with no sliding layer’s degenerate obviously.(2) With the change of stress vertical pressure, the ratio of75%of bitumen sandtechnology has stable performance which can be a very good energy dissipation of theupgrade Structure that can suffers small force. So it is suitable for a one or two storybuilding in the villages.45%of the asphalt mixture ratio for sand technology can alsobe a good energy dissipation, protecting the upper structure, but experiments proves thatits performance is not stable, the sliding load is big and with even bad control in matchup uniformly.(3) Bound rubber bunch technology play an important part in low verticalcompressive stress of wall than in high vertical compressive stress of wall, and provide part of the second stiffness to low vertical compressive stress of wall when under thevertical stress.(4) Made of waste tires bound tyre technology can better dissipation energy thanbound rubber bunch. It can provide the wall a lot of second stiffness, but its slip limited. Therefore, the "asphalt-sand sliding layer" and "bound rubber bunch" which cansignificantly improve the masonry structures’ earthquake resistance performance intowns and villages, is a new and economical seismic isolation technique and can beeffectively applied in these structures.
