Switched reluctance motor as a new special motor, is a new kind of variable.speeddrives,which has been developed from1980s with the rapid advance of power electronics andmicroelectronics, the system is composed of double.salient reluctance motor, power converter,position sensors and controllers.Advantages of its simple structure, low cost, rugged, highreliability, and more flexible controllability of the system has been widely used in variousindustries. Such as electric vehicle drive system, servo speed control system, high speedmotor.The switched reluctance motor speed control system combines the rugged AC variablespeed system, the controllability of the best features of DC speed control system particularlysuitable for the environment in the evil and requirements for high.speed running in the occasion.However, the switched reluctance motor speed control system, there are some shortcomings ofits own, mainly in the run.time torque ripple, and noise problems caused by the torque ripple.Switched Reluctance Motor’s structure determines its optimization method.Structural parameters have a major impact on motor performance, so this cut from theangle of the motor design, the use of2D finite element method and three.dimensional finiteelement method for switched reluctance motor magnetic field to carry out research work, thefamily of four typical magnetization curve depthdiscussed, in particular the staticcharacteristics of maximum and minimum inductance location for detailed calculations, andoptimized stator structure and size to optimize the motor, make the design more reasonable.Future research can also take full account of the other structural parameters on the performanceof switched reluctance motor, in order to more accurately select the correct structure size.The simulation results can be seen, the switched reluctance motor performance parametersestablished by the two.dimensional finite element analysis model calculated are accurate andreliable.
