Switched reluctance motor(SRM)system is a new kind of variable-speed drives, which has been developed from 1980s with the rapid advance of power electronics and microelectronics. The system is composed of double-salient reluctance motor, power, converter, rotor position sensor and controller. The motor and converter have more simple structure, higher reliability, and more flexible controllability of the system. It could be looked as an important respect in the research field of motor and variable-speed drives.Nowadays, research on SRM focuses on two directions: one is electric machinery design, another is control system development. A prototype is shown according to SRM theory in this paper, the motor are analyzed based on analytic method, 2D and 3D FEM, the four typical magnetization curve are in-depth discussed, especially, the static characteristics in the maximum and minimum inductance location are calculated in detail, including the characteristics of flux, inductance and torque, then the three methods of calculation are compared, and the feasibility of these three methods is confirmed.Because the structural parameters have the important impact on the motor's performance, the influence of rotor pole ace on the SRM's static characteristics is analyzed, and it provide some basis for the SRM's optimal design,in the future,we can consider fully of other structural parameters which influence the SRM, by the way of system optimization, the exactly motor size of the structure is chosen, thus it make the design more reasonable.
