The Exploration And Analyses Of Geological Parks’ Planning And Design

Geological parks are places that are based on geological relic resource show, builtin the unique natural areas and reflect the geological relics with typicality, rareness andaesthetic value in these areas.They are the key reserves containing geological reliclandscape and ecological environment as well as the base where geological study andscientific education can be carried out. Besides, they are the sites where recreationaltravel, sightseeing on vacation, scientific education, cultural amusement and health carecan be provided.By the end of2008, there had been159provincial geological parks approved andbuilt in our country. Among them, over20national geological parks such as YunnanStone Forest, Hunan Zhangjiajie, Henan Yuntai Mountain have been approved andincluded on the international geological park network, accounting for35%of theuniversal geological parks, which leads to the fact that China has become a countrywhere there are the most geological parks in the world.However, owing to the previous blind development of geological parks, the lack ofawareness of protecting them, some geological parks built hurriedly are now in asituation where they can’t make ends meet. They neither protect the geological relicswell nor promote the local economic development.By looking back on the development of domestic and foreign geological parksand analyzing the previous cases, based on the past experience and lessons, this essaypresents the problem existing in the geological park planning and design, analyzes theapplication of the theory and methods of geological park planning and design from theaspect of the early scheming and planning and brings forward the basic planning anddesigning framework on how to maintain the sustainable development of geologicalparks. By researching into the early scheming of geological park, general layout, thelandscape planning and design, marketing strategy and other aspects, based on thelargest burial site of dinosaur fossils colony------Zhucheng Cretaceous dinosaurinternational geological park, which is being built, according to its own characteristicsof the geological park, the essay summarizes the planning and designing methods ofChinese geological parks with the purpose of building a geological park which canstand the test of time and develop sustainably.
