This paper aims to identify the impacts of the main factors on Gansu’s energy consumption and CO2emissions, on this basis,gives the specific measures for energy conservation and emissions reduction of Gansu Province, it can provide a reference for the Gansu’s work in future.In this paper,by using the energy statistics from1980to2010,we analyzed energy consumption of China and Gansu,also analyzed current situation of primary high energy-consuming industries, then we used path analysis method to find the impacts of various factors on Gansu’s energy consumption,selecting economic growth,total population,industrial structure,energy consumption structure,energy production structure and the proportion of clean energy as influencing factors.We got the conclusion that the total energy consumption had increased year by year both from the national level and the level of Gansu province,especially in recent years.The proportion of industrial energy consumption was always high, and the energy consumption structure was dominated by coal,the proportion of six high energy-consuming industries was relatively large,and it would be increasing with the development of the industry. We used path analysis method to find that economic growth was main decisive factor of Gansu,energy consumption structure was still the main limiting factor.Secondly, potential factors influencing the energy-related CO2emissions in Gansu was analyzed based on logarithmic mean Divisa decomposition approach.This paper mainly decomposed the energy-related CO2emissions of Gansu over the period1997-2010,selecting economic growth, energy intensity, energy structure, population and CO2emission factor as the influencing factor.Results showed:△Cpop=161,500tons,△Cgpc=43.1988million tons,△Cint=-22.5064million tons,△Cmix=-1.2046million tons,△Gtot=9.6478million tons.Economic growth was the major contributing factor of the CO2emissions in Gansu,intensity of energy consumption was the major inhibitory factors. The same time, the improvement of the energy structure will reduce CO2emissions,the proportion of coal in the energy structure made a relatively large effect on carbon emissions.Finally, we gave the specific measures of energy conservation and emissions reduction according to the results of the analysis of Gansu Province, and proposed to recommend the key technologies of energy saving in the high energy-consuming industries.Through analyzing current situation and problems of the energy saving technology in the high energy-consuming industries, calculating the energy saving potential in the representative industries,we gave the advanced technologies of energy saving which be recommended.
