As the society develops, clothes are more likely to be seen as a way to convey the ideasand aestheticism besides to keep warm. The culture and the overall impression of the brandwhich have regional traits should represent the regional culture and aesthetic inclination.Recent years, as a growing number of people advocate applying the traditional thetraditional culture element to the clothes design, more and more clothes brands use Chineseculture as its design culture. However, to use the traditional elements is not just copying. Thedesigner should have an overall understanding to the rational structure and perceptualcognition of the traditional culture’s artistic ideology, know the aesthetic principle andcreation methods systematically, learn to be more sensitive to the ideology and to abstract theidea. At last, they should be able to apply these ideas to the practice to design moreinnovative works.An excellent designer should explore the Chu brand clothes design linking with theChu culture’s artistic ideology. An outstanding local brand ought to display the national spiritand regional culture. This thesis explore the Chu culture design systematically in terms of theideas, affection, aestheticism and spirit, based on the environment that Chu culture’s artisticideology was formed in, to summarize the methods and elements the modern clothes designcould draw on. It hopes that the thesis could give some suggests to the regional clothesdesign and provide some thoughts to the Chu clothes brand development through the researchof Chu culture’s artistic ideology.
