The remaining oil research was the main task of the oil field development in the latterpart of reservoir management, and an important means to control water stable oil developmentstrategy. With the difficulty and cost of exploration, it was urgent and important to improvethe crude oil recovery. Many oil field development practices showed that generally the waterdrive oil recovery was only about30%, two-thirds of the remaining oil reserves still left in theground. This development status has opened up the prospect for the remaining oil and theapplication techniques.Since1990, Xinmin oil field, the large-scale fractured low permeability sandstonereservoir, has been invested in developing. Through20years of development, it has enteredthe high water cut of the development phase, whose underground oil and water relationshipand the remaining oil distribution became more complex, the oilfield stable and adjustment oftapping the potential became more and more difficult.Complex geological conditions and development stage to improve the difficulty ofdevelopment, exposed many contradictions and problems, mainly as follows:1) the poorwater flooding effect. Low permeability and the effect of nonlinear seepage wells, resulting indifficult to establish effective driving pressure system, high pressure, high strength water,causing water to oil replacement rate, casing, water channeling is serious.2) with the increaseof water, water oil mobility ratio increase, the oil-water two-phase permeability decline; moreand more water, acid sensitivity, velocity sensitivity and other serious problems; causereservoir permeability decrease, water injection starting pressure increased, water cut risingfast, single well production capacity decline.3) strong reservoir heterogeneity, reservoirshould be undertaken. In water flooding in2004, despite the high precision3D seismicinterpretation, but the layer system of sedimentary, reservoir block further, block, fluidmigration regularity of remaining oil distribution is unclear.4), horizontal reservoirheterogeneity. The horizontal reservoir heterogeneity is serious, so that the water floodingprocess, thick layers of high permeability zone flooding is serious, low permeabilityformation has not been the waves and high permeability layer; interlayer water channeling;effect of plane sedimentary facies belt, easy to form the injection water flow phenomenon. Atthe same time, block oil properties is complicated, especially crude oil viscosity is highest inFuyu oilfield, a certain extent affected the water flooding effect.5), reservoir basic geologicalcomprehensive knowledge needs to be deepened.In this paper, on the basis of previous studies, combined with years of practice in Xinminoilfield development, through the research area of stratigraphic correlation, fault and microstructure, sedimentary microfacies, reservoir distribution and heterogeneity of reservoirgeological model, the establishment of fine sand, and lays the foundation for the prediction ofthe heterogeneity of the reservoir and favorable block, are of profound study of Xinmin oil field, and has made the complex stratigraphic research results and the actual situation inXinmin oil production plant of comprehensive recovery technology.
