With the deterioration of ecological environment in the world, the importance of ecological security has brought much attention by the public. Then ecological security has become one of the most significant strategies. Tourism development depends upon favorable ecological environment, which is the extraordinary nature of tourism development. So tourism city’s ecological security has come to relative specialists’mind in the background of ecological security. Many experts explore to investigate tourism city’s ecological security assessment to improve and maintain the sustainable development of tourism city to figure out problems and then put forward constructive suggestions.In the review of existing literatures, the paper tries to make an assessment index of tourism city’s ecological security in DPSIR model. Then it uses the method of theory analysis, analytic hierarchy process and expert interviews to structure an index assessment system and calculates weights using entropy and AHM method to examine the ecological security of tourism cities.To improve the validity and reasonableness of DPSIR model, it chooses an famous city of Dalian as the case study of tourism city’s ecological security. The findings show the ecological situation of Dalian has changed sharply from2003to2012. The driving-force index, pressure index, state index, impact index and response index has evolved in different way. Through analyzing each evolution path of five dimensions, it identifies its weakness of ecological security and some problems demanding prompt solution in Dalian. Besides, it proves that DPSIR model is scientific and applicable to ecological security assessment. After the consideration of assessment, we can response instantly and effectively to keep the development of ecology, social and economics in balance.
