As a method of deep hole processing,BTA has become a commonly used technology because of itswide processing range, good processing quality,and stable processing performance.However, with theprogressing of manufacturing technology, the BTA deep hole machining quality has been difficult to meetthe requirements of the new product, a major obstacle to restrict the development of the entire machiningtechnology.Therefore, we must actively seek effective measures to improve the quality of BTA deep holemachining.In the actual process,in fact,the deformation BTA drill and the vibration of the drill pipe areimportant factors affecting the quality of deep hole machining.These factors vary depending on themechanical characteristics of the deep hole cutter (i.e., the drill bit and drill pipe),so the study ofmechanical properties is important.This article is to study the mechanical properties of the BTA drill bit anddrill pipe.Firstly,this topic research with drilling principle and characteristics of BTA deep holeprocessing,analyzed the drilling forces and established a mechanical model,discussed the proper installationangle and principles of the guide block,analyzed the vibration phenomena in the BTA drilling.Secondly,wemade a static analysis and simulation with the BTA drilling,observed the wear condition of the BTA drillingteeth, middle teeth and side teeth in the Experiment,verify the results of simulation,providing a basis for theBTA drilling structural optimization. By the modal analysis of the BTA drilling, we reached the top tenorder vibration mode of the model.Finally,this issue made the modal analysis and harmonic responseanalysis of the BTA drill pipe,reaching the characteristics of top ten of the drill pipe order modal shape,andthe amplitude response at different frequencies along the X, Y, Z direction,finding that cause resonancefrequencies is the seventh-and ninth-order modes. Proposed in the drilling process,this issue suggestexcitation frequency to avoid these two frequencies should be adjusted to reduce the amplitude ofvibration.This topic proposed many effective measures to reduce the deformation of the BTA drill bit anddrill pipe vibration.With these measures,we can greatly improve the deep hole machining quality and itsstability.It has great significance to the development of the deep hole processing technology.
