Deep processing plays in an important part in the machinery manufacturing industry,specially in the heavy machinery manufacturing industry. But in the deep hole machiningprocess, due to slender features of drill pipe, vibration is an important reason that affects themachining accuracy, tool life and cutting efficiency. The torsional vibration of drill pipe of ismainly due to the inhomogeneous workpiece material and the weak torsional rigidity of drillpipe. During deep hole drilling, the torsional vibration is a common phenomenon and it isharmful deep hole processing. But currently there is no good solution.In this article, drill pipe torsional vibration and vibration damping technique in BTAdeep hole drilling system has been studied, so provides the theoretical basis and has importantpractical significance. First, considering the effects of the cutting fluid and chips, establish themodel of drill pipe torsional vibration. Then according to the established model and elasticmechanics, mechanics of materials, fluid lubrication theory, the equations of motion isformated to calculate the natural frequency of drill pipe torsional vibration and vibration modefunction. Secondly, study on the drill system additional dynamic vibration absorber.According to the characteristics of deep hole processing and the actual processing site, themodel and the equation of deep hole drilling system adding dynamic vibration absorber areestablished. Dynamic amplification factor and the damping coefficient are also determined.Again,according to vibration type of the drill pipe, design dynamic vibration absorberselectively. And then determine the various parameters and the optimized parameters,depending on the requirements made of the vibration damping target and the required function. In the design stage, select the appropriate stiffness and damping coefficients to design variousdynamic vibration absorbers so as to achieve a best damping effect. Then, design the deviceof dynamic vibration absorber and introduce the position of dynamic vibration absorbermounting on the BTA deep hole drilling. Finally, using the aforementioned models andoptimized parameters, a process instance has been simulated to validate the damping effect ofoptimized dynamic vibration absorber. The results show that the dynamic vibration absorberoptimized plays a good role in twist vibration elimination.
