Studies On The Producing Of Tea Recycled Sheets And Applying It In Cigarette

Research was conducted to produce tea recycled sheet by using tea stalk and tea dust as raw materials. Firstly, the chemical contents, fiber properties and aroma components of tea stalk and tea dust were tested to analyze the feasibility of tea recycled sheet. Secondly, the specific parameter of tea recycled sheet manufacturing process was explored. Thirdly the chemical contents, cigarette smoke and aroma components of tea recycled sheet were tested and the sense quality of tea recycled sheet was also evaluated. Fourthly, tea recycled sheet was used to develop ultra-low tar cigarettes. Fifthly, tea recycled sheet were blended into "auspicious lions" and "seven wolves (soft gray)" cigarettes and the sense quality of them were evaluated. Finally, the cost of tea recycled sheet production was calculated.The results were as follows. Firstly, the tea stalk and tea dust contained a trace of nicotine and sugar contents of them were very low that contributed to reduce the nicotine and tar content of cigarette. The average length tea stalk was relatively long and the percentage of fibers which length larger than1.00mm was high. It was good for manufacturing recycled sheet. Among aroma components, the relative content of phytol, phenylacetaldehyde, indole, phenethyl alcohol were all more than10%. The number and relative content of alcohols, aldehydes and ketones were in the top three. Secondly, the final formula and parameters of production process foe the tea recycled sheet were determined by testing.Thirdly, the physical properties of tea recycled sheet were suitable for the national standard. Its nicotine content was zero and sugar content was low. Among aroma components, the number and relative content of ketones, alcohols and aldehydes were in the top three. The sense of tea recycled sheet had special style and tea aroma.Fourthly, two kinds of ultra-low tar (3mg) cigarettes were produced by using tea recycled sheet. The tar, nicotine, total particulate matter and carbon monoxide content of the two kinds of ultra-low tar (3mg) cigarettes were noticeable reduced.Fifthly, the tea recycled sheet was blended into the "auspicious lions" cigarette and the sensory quality of it was improved. The different proportions tea recycled sheet was blended into the "seven Wolves (soft gray)" cigarettes and the sensory quality of them could be improved and could produce different style products. Finally, the cost of tea recycled sheet was less than that of the tobacco recycled sheet.The use of tea recycled sheet either make full use of waste materials such as tea stalk and tea dust, but also broaden the raw material source of cigarettes, reduce production costs and gain obvious economic benefits.
