Study On The Ecological Barrier Function Of The Mountainous Areas In Beijing And The Choice Of Its Technical Solution

In the recent years, guided by China’s macro policies, Beijing strengthened its efforts inimproving ecological environment in its mountainous areas. For instance, Beijing conducted aseries of ecological environment improvement projects, which played an important part inimproving the ecological environment in Beijing. However, due to many reasons, such asoverexploitation of resources of the suburban mountainous areas, and development andconstruction of nearby towns and villages over a long period, unscientific functional zoning,economic structure and industry layout, ecological and environmental quality in the mountainousareas has been declining continuously; and environmental damage and ecological degeneration asa result of human factors and natural disaster haven’t been completely restored and contained.Besides, development of the mountainous areas has become a key battle field in the plan ofbuilding an overall well-off society in the21stcentury and the plan of building a new countryside,which inevitably leads to increase of demand for resources and energy, and results in heavyburden on the ecology and environment, brings greater pressure on the limited ecologicalresources, as a result, the ecological safety problem in the mountainous areas has become moreprominent. Bearing in mind the principles of building an ecology friendly and environmentfriendly society, it has become a practical problem requiring urgent study and solution toadequately protect the environment in Beijing and its surrounding areas, and build an ecologicalbarrier in the mountainous areas.Based on an in-depth analysis of such aspects as the problems that exist in naturalenvironment, social economic condition and the ecological environment in the mountainous areasin Beijing, the author conducts a study about functional zoning of the ecological barrier in themountainous areas. Considering current technical capability and needs, the author conducts acomprehensive analysis about possible technical solutions for building the ecological barrier in themountainous areas, and the author hopes to provide some technical support for future building ofthe ecological barrier in the mountainous areas in Beijing.
