Nowadays people pay more attention on comfort and function of underwear, which makes tight seamless underwear a concern. Suitable clothing pressure is very important for tight seamless underwear to shape one’s body. In order to meet the needs of seamless underwear enterprise, pressure comfort and shaping effect were discussed in this research to establish the prediction and evaluation system for tight seamless underwear, which provided an efficient path for enterprise to design good tight seamless underwear production and improve pressure comfort. The study dealt with apparel anthropological engineering, anthropometry, mathematical modeling, computer programming and etc.By SPSS statistical analysis of questionnaires from212female customers in Shanghai, it was found that the market potential of seamless underwear was big and customers had a positive evaluation on tight seamless underwear. However, the problem mainly about comfort and shaping effect should be solved by seamless underwear manufactures urgently.By using air-bag pressure measuring system, pressure data of10various tight seamless underwear samples were obtained. It indicated that the difference of pressure values among samples caused by different styles, structures and body shapes. The representative pressure test points were decided as middle point of shoulder, bust point, lower cup point, scapular point, side waist point, back side waist point, abdominal point on tops and abdominal point, side abdominal point, hip convex point, leg point on bottoms. The results provided basic data and academic foundation for pressure comfort study.By cluster analysis,30female of three kinds of body shapes (normal, fattish and fat) were selected as subjects from120female. Through paired-samples T test, the shaping effect was evaluated by comparing the body size before and after wearing samples. By ANOVA, it showed that there was no significant difference among three kinds of body shapes in shaping effect and little better effect could be found on the body of normal shape and fattish shape.By nonparametric tests—k related samples, it revealed that the comfort and shaping effect of most samples were steady and there was no significant difference with wearing time extension (4hours and8hours). Among three kinds of people of different body shapes, people of fattish shape had the highest requirements for comfort and people of normal shape showed the most satisfactory for shaping effect. In addition, tight seamless underwear were more favored by people of normal shape and fattish shape. People of fattish shape and fat shape tended to choose products of L size. The results about subjects’feelings of fitting tight seamless underwear provided basic academic foundation for establishing pressure evaluation system.Based on double-log model, pressure prediction models were established by three easy-obtained parameters as followed:body size, clothing size and textile elongation. By comparing the test values and predicted values, the model showed better prediction effect. The evaluation criteria tables on pressure of tight seamless underwear were established from the box plots, of which the desired pressure values were886.5-1116.9Pa on chest,709.6-1118.7Pa on wasit,521.4-782.6Pa on abdominal of tops, and1066.9-1448.9Pa on abdominal,667.2-931.3Pa on hip,976.8-2436.0Pa on leg of bottoms. Based on VB programming, a procedure was designed to evaluate pressure of tight seamless underwear and predict pressure on three body shapes, which realized theoretical prediction and evaluation.Based on consumer research, subjective and objective experiments on comfort and shaping effect, the pressure prediction model and evaluation criteria of tight seamless underwear were established and the corresponding programming was designed to predict and evaluate the pressure values, pressure feeling, comfort and shaping effect of various tight seamless underwear on different body shapes, which overcome the defects of traditional experience and repeated fitting lack of scientific basis and guidance. The results provide scientific basis and reference for enterprise to design good tight seamless underwear as well as for consumer to buy suitable products, which will promote seamless underwear electronic commerce.The overall results had been used in enterprise production, which filled in the vacant theory of tight seamless underwear pressure prediction and evaluation. And one national inventive patents "An approach for predicting and evaluating pressure of tight seamless underwear based on double-log model" had been applied for.
